School Philosophy
We are born great improvisers.
But then…
We spend years in formal education systems learning to think in rigid ways, avoiding failures, and protecting ourselves from spontaneous expression.
We emerge risk-averse, fearful of the unknown, and holding irrational beliefs.
We spend the rest of our lives working on skills that we had from the beginning but have since forgotten.

AIM: To develop student’s intrinsic abilities and potential, based foremost on their needs. To (re)build, refine and develop the student’s improvisation skills and encourage an ongoing quest for excellence based on their particular value systems.
Learning every rule and reading every book will not build a complete performer. Truly learning to improvise goes beyond style and presentation.
Johnstone, Spolin, Chicago, Calgary, Long form, Short form are all potential parts of your development but YOU are where this all starts and ends. Development is ongoing. It continues as long as you remain open.
